Mary Caccamo

Mary is passionate about her doll making, starting as a student of Betty Gribbles studio, Sarah Sey Dolls at Annangrove in the 1996, then attending seminars with Monica Wides at Monique’s Ceramics at Hornsby and then eventually setting up her own studio – Dulcimer Dolls at Galston

Her classes are characterized by her attention to detail and willingness to share her knowledge with her students.  Many hours are spent researching seminar subjects as well as perfecting techniques before they are unleashed on her students.

Mary has reached the level of Instructor and Master of Doll Making with the Doll Artisan Guild, an organization in the US that has set the standard for teaching doll making on an international level. 

A founding member of ADA – Australasian Doll Association which was established to improve and standardise judging of competitions for porcelain doll makers thereby encouraging doll makers to compete and improve their skills.  Mary is responsible for their regular newsletter and is also active in judging competitions.

She regularly writes articles for Dolls Bears and Collectables on all aspects of doll making, giving interesting insights to the history behind the dolls as well as sharing techniques for improving readers doll making skills and awareness
